Originally retiring for fears of longterm health, Anthony Davis is attempting a comeback four years since he last played. I hope he gets reinstated because it would be interesting to see if anyone takes a chance on him.

I'd rank the odds of him actually playing as like 0.1% though.

He has size that you can't teach. Will be interesting to see if he's in shape. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a couple workouts but being four years removed is tough. Teams would also question his commitment. It'll be a very long road before he steps on the field but there's always a chance.

he actually retired twice. The first time was the year that harbaugh left when it was clear the organization was moving in the wrong direction. He then sat out one season before coming back for chip Kelly, but I think he retired again before the season started.

He was very talented and always a nice guy. I am rooting for him. I imagine the niners will release him and that he will end up in Houston.

And they should! The guy bailed when the going got tough and the 9ers slid out of contention. Bad combo of front office power struggle and the 9ers continuously being out-coached by other teams.

Hopefully you guys can turn things around. That DL should help if the two ex-Ducks start putting things together along with Thomas, Bosa and Ford. Keep Jimmy G away from porn stars and you guys will be rolling.

Dave Gettleman, COME ON DOWN!!!

Anthony Davis is an actual walking, breathing, professional offensive tackle- claims that may not always have been true about Ereck Flowers, Bobby Hart, Mike Toast, Chad Wheeler, and some of the other stiffs the New York Giants have run out on the field on their O-line the last few years.

Image result for chad wheeler

A guy who once played the position at a successful level would be welcomed with open arms, at this point- even if it were years ago.

Where have your gone, Kareem McKenzie???

Besides: ANTHONY DAVIS went to college at Rutgers- in New Jersey! It would be in keeping with the Regional-Preference Legacy Theory that sentimental football writers follow when crafting their way-off-base mock drafts. Anthony Davis is from Piscataway! He played for Piscataway Township ("Go, Fighting Shore Birds!")!

This was meant to happen. Dave Gettleman- "Hog Molly" Alert!

The fact that he retired early would make me think the opposite. Usually people who spend everything they have cling to whatever the next check is.

Maybe but the timing of this is very strange like he didn’t just realize the game is safe for OL again or that he just loves it

Someone who has quit football twice isn't exactly the type of person that Bill O'Brien wants. The Texans are holding off on signing a 2x All Pro OLB due to concerns on work ethic/desire, so I doubt they'd even put out a camp flyer for a guy who has already stopped playing twice.

I hope Watson's bus is all gassed up and ready for some long road trips this season

It's not like AD is coming in to be the big missing piece to the unit - he'd make a bad line less bad, but it's still a bad line even if he was hypothetically added to the team.
