He's the head coach. Both sides of the ball are his responsibility. His failure to hire Wade (to insult him no less) is on his shoulders.

Good OC does not necessarily a good HC make.

True, but sadly this good OC has equated to the second best HC the Redskins have had this century.

I mean ppl wanted to continuously blame Haslett from 2010-2014 as our defensive coordinator even though most of those years but 2011 we had crappy talent except for a few positions and we had some awful injuries but I didn't hear too many ppl blame Shanahan for hiring and continuing go employ Haslett from 2010-2013z

Given that only one HC in the 21st century has even a 0.500 record (Marty Schottenheimer), that's not an accomplishment.

(he technically would be third, also)

Fair enough although one-year is not really long enough to evaluate.

Also, I didn't say it was an accomplishment and also let the record reflect that in this thread I didn't say Jay was a good HC. It just happens to be that he's been the 2nd or by your measure the 3rd most successful HC of the team this century.

I didn't say that was a good thing. I just said it's a thing.

While I get what you are saying, he's the only one to do it, even if only for a year.

One thing to keep in mind: if Gruden were able to save his job with a 10-6 season and a playoff berth, he'd take 2nd.
