The only RBs on the roster in the mold of a 3-down back are Smallwood and Clement. Blount's niche is short yardage/goal line. Sproles' niche is pass catching and special teams. Pumphrey doesn't belong on a NFL field this year. So in the worst case scenario, at least you have someone like Clement who knows the offense and you can give the ball to and he'll fall forward for three yards.
