Jared Veldheer signing with the Patriots (Offensive Tackle)

Recommended Posts

Former member of the Raiders, Cardinals and most recently the Broncos. Transitioning from one side of the offensive line to the other has not been kind to Veldheer who was asked to play right tackle for a while.

Veldheer is a massive human being and comes into camp most likely expected to make the roster. The Patriots conducted a private meeting prior to the draft with Veldheer and waited until today to avoid losing a compensatory draft selection in 2020.

I expect Veldheer to compete at left tackle in case Isaiah Wynn doesn't recover from his Achilles injury in 2018. Rookie Yodney Cujuste will probably have the same opportunity to win a starting position but is currently slated to develop as a backup swing tackle and guard.

The player most affected by this signing currently is Cole Croston who was retained from the practice squad in 2018 and is hoping to make the roster again this fall.

Good luck and good health to all.

Our obligatory veteran who never makes it to camp. Usually one of these and another who doesnt make it out of camp and retires.

Starting left tackle guys. Listen to me.

No need for him. Wynn and Cajuste will be ready and Scar is coaching them.

Pulled a Reggi Wayne. Camp too hard? Hope our young guys are  ready, in Scar we trust.

Yeah maybe they come here expecting an easy veteran-type retirement whilst earning a ring, but realise they have to completely re-evaluate the way they even think about the sport, let alone put up with the physical programme.

....that's one version at least
