Even if we say Savage and James are similar calibers of talent, and I find that to be a laughable take.

James is the only college safety to stand out as a rookie since who? Eric Berry?

Expecting Savage to be very good this year is just not historically realistic.

There is no comparing the 2 as athletes or as football players IMO.  Savage is small and quick.  James is much bigger, much longer, much stronger and more explosive.  On top of being differant types of athletes, James was a much, much, much better football player coming out of college.  A huge athletic specim for his position without many holes in his game.  Range in coverage, size and strength to be a force in the box and great as a blitzer.  

I'd like to know what in Savage's college career has people believing that he's a Derwin James caliber of safety?  You could make the arguement that James was one of the 5 best DBs in college football even as a freshman.
