My hourly rate is already pretty high on straight time, and this weekend will be nice for sure. Wife and kids will be busy anyway, so I figured I'd cover the shifts for the guy that wanted the weekend off. And it's graveyards, which is an extra $1.50/hr, which doesn't seem like much, but on OT and 3T it adds up pretty fast lol. And enjoy that government schedule, my man. We get a lot of holidays, but I imagine you guys get more. And you guys actually get them off, while we still have to work (but get paid). I'm actually in one of the only positions in the company that has to be here 24/7/365. Nights, weekends, holidays, all of it. Former financial analyst myself, then military >.gov contractor but as a meteorological technician (weatherdude). Now a high school special ed teacher (English, Gov't/Econ). I need to do something interesting or i get realll grumpy. My idea is to work for an airline or a major hotel so i get some kind of cool perk.
