swede700
Quote The Vikings kick off Organized Team Activity practices this week, as the team will have 10 voluntary sessions over the next three weeks. Minnesota will then hold a three-day mandatory minicamp from June 11-13. With the team hungry to compete for an NFC North title and get back in the playoffs, here are six Vikings storylines to follow over the next few weeks. 1. How the offensive coaching staff works together | By Eric Smith We can’t blame you if you do a double take when looking at Minnesota’s offensive coaching staff. Only two coaches remain in the same role they were in a year ago: running backs coach Kennedy Polamalu and assistant offensive line coach Andrew Janocko. https://www.vikings.com/news/6-intriguing-things-as-vikings-approach-ota-practices

swede700
Quote There is little doubt remaining that the Minnesota Vikings will be turning to a rookie at the center position in 2019. First-round pick Garrett Bradbury took the full allotment of first-team reps at center during Wednesday’s open practice at Vikings OTAs, while Pat Elflein got settled in his new post at left guard. “Right now I’m just focusing on all left guard,” Elflein told reporters after practice. https://zonecoverage.com/2019/featured/pat-elflein-getting-accustomed-to-new-role-at-left-guard/
swede700
Quote The second-team offensive line, from left to right, consisted of: Aviante Collins, Dakota Dozier, Brett Jones, Danny Isidora and Storm Norton. With O’Neill’s absence, the Vikings were down to 14 total linemen. Collins took snaps at right tackle with the third-team offense, and was joined by John Keenoy, Cornelius Edison, Dru Samia and Olisaemeka Udoh. https://www.vikings.com/news/3-observations-from-initial-otas-viking-unveil-new-look-offensive-line

Get them as much practice at their expected positions as possible. They can always move them around later if they have to

Krauser
Interesting that they seem committed to Elflein-LG and Kline-RG. Kline played on the left side for much of his time with the Patriots (then at RG later with the Titans). Most of Elflein's work at guard in college was at RG. I think they might want Elflein on the left in order to give him more help in pass protection -- he's probably the weaker link. RG's tend to be a little bigger and stronger (and better paid). ... I'm glad to see Odenigbo back at DE. He played better there last preseason than at DT. To make the team he probably needs to beat out Bower, which seems possible -- Bower had another good preseason last year but then couldn't stay healthy and didn't contribute during the regular season even when they were thin at the position. If Jaleel is more of a NT backup (he's playing NT with Joseph sidelined this week), that leaves Shamar Stephen and Jalyn Holmes as the likely 3-techs. I guess it would be Stephen on early downs and Holmes in nickel. If they keep 8 DL I think it'd be: Griffen, Hunter, Weatherly, (Bower or Odenigbo) Joseph, Stephen, Holmes, Johnson They might keep a 9th, either the loser of the Bower/Odenigbo battle at DE, or else Watts, Mata’afa or one of the other long shots (my favorite of them is Anree Saint-Amour). swede700
Quote Who ends up being the No. 3 wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings in 2019 is something that still has to be sorted out this year. There are a number of players who will be competing for the role, including a few new additions to the roster. One of these new additions is former Denver Broncos receiver Jordan Taylor. Signed as a free agent during the offseason, Taylor is already showing the Vikings that he will be gunning for that third receiver spot on their 2019 roster. After Minnesota’s OTA practice on Wednesday, quarterback Kirk Cousins was asked about the 27-year-old pass catcher and he had nothing but good things to say. https://thevikingage.com/2019/05/23/cousins-impressed-minnesota-vikings-taylor/
