49ers S Jimmie Ward breaks collarbone

Recommended Posts

Everyone was expecting him to get injured except the 49ers. No surprise hopefully we are smart and sign Tre Boston

Lol. Just hilarious. The guy we felt comfortable enough with to bypass ET for, ladies and gentlemen. Nah, safety was never going to be a need with this guy back there. Calling him made of glass is an insult to glass

No thanks. Tre Boston is still out there.

Of course, asking this front office to sign Tre Boston would be asking them to competently navigate the world of free agency with regards to needs and players, and we haven't done that overly well in three years, so not sure why we would start doing so now.

The ChargIRs have trademarked that, I think.

This plus bosas hamstring. Is there something out in the water?

Our injury history has been horrific the last 2+ years. We don't get the publicity about it because of how bad we were expected to be anyway, but it's been brutal with the injuries. So bad that we brought in a whole new medical staff. As you can see, it's already working wonders.

Hey, this is a golden opportunity to sign a guy like Boston and pay him like the top player at his or someone else's position. Prepare for a mega-deal that pays him 10m this year and can be voided after that.

Just wait till Jason Verrett goes down, too.  Because it's coming...

That's okay though. I am willing to risk that on a buy low 1 year type deal for a guy that probably wasn't ever going to be mroe than a cb 3/4 (spoon and sherman should be the starters outside) but has shown the talent to be a legit corner (though what talent is left after the injuries remains to be seen). He's got the talent to make that kind of risk worth it. But our safeties weren't good to begin with (well, Tartt isn't bad, but Ward hasn't been good there) and Ward is made of glass but we decided to stick with it anyway.
