G
Was reading in the Texans form and it seemed most there would trade JC for 1st and 3rd....Would you do it? I'd give up our Bears 1st/3rd and ADMIT we f'ed up letting Mack walk. Not the money but the person/effort/what he brings to the table and giving up the Bears picks is admitting it IMO. It's better than Clark and we'd have to pay him but could offer less money 18/20 for current JC and Mack money if contributing to team and indy goals as such... I'd do it to fix a problem we didn't 'fix' in the draft. We threw a few picks at it but it's still and issue and our DB's with a healthy JC would probably look REAL GOOD... Or we can wait another season or two to compete?!?
big_palooka
Stay the course. You traded Mack to get younger and cheaper. Draft well and develop. It's not time for knee jerk trades. The team is 2-3 years away from competing anyway.
NYRaider
Why would we trade away a 1st/3rd for a player that's significantly worse than Mack and pay him just as much? Clowney has never even had 10 sacks in a season or been a full time edge player with his hand in the dirt.

That's what I thought too, until we traded 2 picks and paid a lot of money to AB and sealed it with making the other Brown the highest paid offensive lineman in history. It's why I don't understand this off-season. We're rebuilding...Nope add win now and...We're still 6-10 probably. So another pass rusher is needed. NYR the pay is 'IF' he reached those levels otherwise it's less than Lawrence/Clark and closer to Von Miller's signed years ago...
OG_C2X
The sky isnt falling. We have a franchise QB. The Best WR in the league. A legit #2 WR. 3 legit starters on the OL with a second year player drafted in the first round. A RB that most think will have an immediate impact. On defense we have holes but we have a player we took @4 who will have an impact day one. Key looked really good last year despite not finishing the job ome some sacks. Hurst is going to emerge as one of the best young DT in the NFL. Our Linebackers are ehhh. Our secondary is pretty good. Conley is a legit CB1. Mullen will surprise people as a rookie. Joyner Joseph and Abrams are all quality starters. We are on our way. Trust the process. We didnt make a mistake not resigning Mack.

Agree with most you said but.... We saw what happened with Cable and he's still here...Only Hudson looked legit last season... Hence why the sky isn't falling but our QB might...Was hoping the Redskins fired everyone so Jay and Bill C. would have replaced our weakest links... Jerry
No way would I take Clowney. Not worth 20+ million which is what I'm sure he is demanding.

Truth is the dude has had a ton of injuries and hasn’t made as much of an impact as he should have playing on a line with JJ Watt.

Whoever pays him that is doing so with the hope that he'll become an elite pass rusher but he hasn't been so far.
