The most interesting take: Starr was Tom Brady before Brady. Spot on. https://247sports.com/nfl/green-bay-packers/Article/Bart-Starr-dead-Mike-Greenberg-tribute-132404066/ Except that Bart called his plays. That fact that his legendary HC did his coaching during the week and then gave the reins to his QB to call the game. We'll not see his like again. Shanedorf
Packers scheduling all kinds of events to honor Bart https://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/news/2019/06/07/packers-legend-bart-starr-life-celebrate-september/1384649001/ Players will wear a No. 15 decal on their helmets throughout the season, a tribute to Starr. His is one of six jersey numbers the franchise has retired. The weekend, to coincide with Packers Alumni Weekend, will start with the Green & Gold Gala on Sept. 13 in the Lambeau Field Atrium. Starr’s wife, Cherry, and their son, Bart Starr Jr., will make a presentation. The event benefits Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin. The Packers will hold a halftime ceremony during their Sept. 15 game against the minnesota vikings to honor Starr. Dozens of former players, including some of Starr’s former teammates, will be in attendance.

Young Mark Murphy is right behind him. Ed took him aside and said, "Never fix that gap in your teeth. It will be your trademark." Also, there was a cosmic disturbance in the Force when the advent of television coincided with men's desire to wear tight houndstooth patterned jackets that disrupted video transmissions. If you were born in the 70's or after you don't know this. If a hostile civilization from another solar system is alerted to our presence and turns the planet into a hydrogen/carbon mining outpost it will be because television sports reporters from the 1960's insisted on wearing plaid jackets that created blinding video flares.
