Why only 28 teams?

Its not even 28 teams, its 28 QBs. Foles and Wentz are both on there.

I think it has to do with the amount of passes maybe? Where there teams that had QBs with under ~200 passes?

Just speculating.

Mariota isn't on there, and he played most of the season.

I dont see a dolphins QB.

I dont know. This is a combination of PFF and F.O. data from reddit. I just copy/pasted it.

@plan9misfit => You remember when you told me that "Dak has a much better supporting cast than Brady" and I said that our OL/WR/TE's sucked compared to theirs?

They had the #1 OL. Responsible for 18 sacks.

We had the #28 OL. Responsible for 43 sacks. Thats a 250% increase.

Dont you value the trenches? Or no? You dont think the OL matters?

It really is amazing that Dak and Brady had identical stats once we traded for Cooper. #justsaying

(again, Brady is >> Dak. Dak did close out the year very strong though.... once he wasnt surrounded by complete trash).

How are they delineating a sack on the QB vs a sack on the OL?  Subjective eye-test?

I believe it is based on a reasonable time to throw (like 3 seconds) + blown individual OL assignments + blocking scheme mistakes.

From what I understand PFF had 3 individuals go through each game and track it.

I think its accurate, because other articles for the Cowboys came to similar conclusions for Dak. One from F.O. and one from Bob Sturm where he showed all the sacks and who was at fault for it.

Interesting project. I’d honestly prefer a subjective eye test here than just saying “3+ seconds to throw=QB’s fault”

For Eagles, doesn’t surprise me to see Foles high up there. Holding onto the ball has always been one of his key issues. Wentz definitely prevents several more sacks than he creates, but I’d have sworn he was responsible for more than just 2 sacks since he can go hero mode. Also only 17th ranked OL? Guessing that’s straight from FO.

Point 1 => That is my speculation

Point 2 => This is solely pass blocking. Your total score could be much higher based on run blocking.

Cousins being so high isn't shocking. Surprised to see the OL ranked 9th, the story has been that Cousins will play better once the OL is addressed.

Not too shocked on Watson, with 14 sacks credited against him. Part of the issue was that he hung onto the ball too long, trying to make a play.

I think a concentrated effort to get rid of the ball quickly could help as much as a new LT.

Almost all the young/mobile QBs took a bunch of self inflicted stats. It takes time to learn when to give up on a play.
