ninjapirate
i think I would have waited on this. Guy has had a somewhat serious injury (broken bone/torn ligament) each of the past 4 years. Edited June 7, 2019 by ninjapirate
RandyMossIsBoss
It is what it is. If you’re a franchise QB, you will likely at one point become the most highest paid player ever lol. The good news is Dak and co could use this as their bench mark in negotiations. What kind of message would Cowboys brass be sending Dak’s team if they’re not willing to sign him to Carson money? EaglesPeteC
Just here for people to complain that we drafted a franchise QB and then paid him

Danger
Carson's extension is $32M AAV. Which based on the market, (provided he can stay healthy) is a fair deal. Dak is about to get $29-31M AAV, which is a win for us as well.

Pretty sure I remember seeing something where pretty much every executive in the NFL said they'd take Wentz over Dak. It's fairly obvious that if Wentz is healthy that he's the superior QB. Jroc04
Very glad we got something done before Jerry comes out all Texas and blows this deal out of the water. Howie working the cap once again. Crazy he can field a roster with all this talent and still pay a franchise QB. I hope he lives forever. And now Carson can prove he can stay healthy and win big games. Big year ahead.

Don't think that holds true in this case. But time will tell.
Matts4313
With incentives Wentz is $36m/year. Thats highest paid QB in the NFL right? Didnt Wilson get $35m?
AustrianEagle
So this Contract starts in 2 years and we still have our 25 mill cap room this year? Great Deal. In 2021 there will be loads higher paid, yet worse playing, QBs.

Maybe just $20m over in 2020. Edited June 7, 2019 by Matts4313
