Jermaine Kearse To The Lions

the lone star

I've always been a fan of his. I hope he does well with them, but it seems like they want Marvin and Kenny on the outside with Amendola in the slot. Kearse is more of an outside receiver, so if either Marvin or Kenny goes down, then he could be fantasy relevant.

The move makes a lot of sense as the Lions don't have a ton of depth behind KG or Marvin. Marvin and Danny are more towards the end of their careers than the middle and struggled with injuries at times. There are some younger guys who are unproven. It would be a VERY thin WR corp if any of those three guys go down. He'll help the group learn the offense and potentially could be a solid rotational guy.

I figured they would let Powell be the #4 guy? He has some talent.

He could still wind up being that guy. They'll play things out in minicamp and training camp. Kearse isn't a lock for anything. The team is in "win now" mode and can't rely on young, unproven guys to pick up the slack.

Quinn and Patricia are in a bit of a difficult spot - they're working to do a full organizational turn around, which is difficult and challenging. They are also under pressure to have instant success because MP replaced a guy in Caldwell that would go 9-7 and we'd have a shot at the playoffs. There isn't the patience for a few seasons under 0.500 in a rebuild. Stafford has about two years on the roster before they'd seriously be looking at replacing him. If MP and BQ haven't made the playoffs in this timeframe (2021), they're likely going to be looking at another gutting of the organization including QB, HC and GM.
