The fact that he was diagnosed with a "calf strain" that kept him out close to a month should have had someone in the KD camp screaming for a 2nd/3rd opinion from an independent elite sports medicine specialist. I think I said from my couch, drink in hand, 2 weeks ago that I'd worry about an Achilles injury.

He needs a crazy uncle

Even watching it live I didn't think it was an Achilles. Whoops.

You'd have to think he got a second opinion.

He’s an idiot dude. He’s just super young and immature and has no self awareness. He’s been kinda openly rooting for Toronto on social media and it’s like....maybe keep it off social media??

I'm not really sure if he meant any malice with that tweet but can't tell lol.

If Durant didnt want to play he wouldnt have played period. Theres no one to blame.

He's a competitor and tried to get back on the court to give his team a chance with their back against the wall and it didnt work out for him. Unfortunate.

We don't know that. If the medical staff was up front with him that he was at a heightened risk for further injury, and Durant said that he understood the risks but wanted to play anyway, then yes.

It 100% depends on how thoroughly the Warriors doctors briefed him before clearing him. Him wanting to play doesn't automatically absolve the medical team of their duty to make sure he's making an informed decision.

From all reports it did seem like he got second opinions on his injury. It's just he felt internal pressure to come back. He didn't let the calf fully heal and that would usually take six full weeks.

What I want to know is how did we go from his workout not being good at all according to Jalen, to him being cleared two days later? That is what I don't get.

Second opinions from another doctor within the organization? Or second opinions from a doctor outside the organization?

Seriously. Both Jalen and Windhorst reported that his workout on Thursday went super poorly. Then only 3 days later he goes through a super short practice session and he's good to go?

The Warriors did him no favors at all during his injury. Reports and stories were being written throughout his injury about his heart, desire, and of the team was better without him, and the first time any non-player says anything defending him is after he tears his achilles. Joke of a response from Bob last night.

Knicks will still offer a max. If the Knicks can add another star they could make the playoffs and KD could return at the start of the playoffs (that’s best case though).

Or he could opt in with the Warriors collect a slightly higher 1 year payday rehab potentially be back during the playoffs (again best case) and try and win another ring with GS and do the FA thing again.

Worst case scenario is basically the same except he misses all the season and playoffs.
