Anthony Davis traded to Lakers (Ball/Ingram/Hart/3 1sts)

This could be the Hershel Walker trade 2.0

  • Davis is way better than Walker but he may be gone next year after a disappointing season.
  • The haul that New Orlenas got is comparable.

Moron on TV: "Rob Pelinka is a genius!"

  • They may have given up 7 lottery picks/players in this deal
    • Ingram, Ball, the 4 this year, the next 2 picks, and 2 more first round swaps.
  • It can still be a 1-year rental!

Rich Paul is a great negotiator!

  • He got 2 of his players on a team with 1 other NBA talent on the roster and no future.
    • Bald tires LeBron will be 35, 36, and 37 at a cap hit of 37, 39, and 41 million

The Lakers are 3 to 1 in Vegas because they want free money from suckers.

Bomani Jones hit it on the head about the unprotected swaps in 2023 and 2025.

Nahhh. I’d still take AD over that haul. No shot he leaves after this year.

It’s unlikely but never say never. If the Lakers season doesn’t go well, AD is going to take a ton of flack from La fans and media. He doesn’t seem like the type of dude who would be all about that.

Man, this is you dreaming. LeBron missed the playoffs completely and he caught next to nothing from Laker Fan that he wasnt already getting (Kobe Stan's). LA is not New York, that is where he would be in the pressure cooker.

Again, Pipe Dream guys, even without LeBron on his team, he is now the Face of one of the most recognizable, marketable, and historic franchises in the history of all sports. Who can offer him the most money by far, he is going to be a Laker, it would have to be absolutely catastrophic for him to leave there.

And sure its easy to say Hershel Walker 2.0, but its very unlikely to be the truth. Its just as likely that Ingram walks from the Pels in 18 months, Lonzo may never get that shot fixed, and if AD is embedded with the Lakers, none of those future picks or swaps may be any higher pick #20 or later.

Sure if you hit the Double Draft, then the #20 pick is more valuable, but its still likely a rotation guy. But as that could be LeBrons last year in LA, what if they are suddenly one of the 4 best teams in the NBA? Does the #28 Pick really do anything for you? And then after LJ is gone, its still the Lakers, with AD, do you really think no one is coming to join him?

Those Extra Firsts may just be throw ins by the time they actually get to collect on them. They would be better used by Griffin to move this year or next in deals to collect new assets that he can use immediately, and let some other franchise roll the dice that they may be useful picks.

Lakers will literally have 40 million off the books when Bron contract us up. You better believe there will be interest to come play with a 28-29 year old AD.

NBA draft picks outside the lottery is like finding a needle in a haystack. draft picks are Super over valued bc of the tangible aspect but more than likely those picks will just be avg players or busts.

Don't forget their Three-Named Owner historical legacy, they got a nice run going.

Three-Named Lakers owners:

1965-1978 -- Jack Kent Cooke

1979-2014 -- Dr Jerry Buss

2015-present -- Buss Family Trust
