2019 Training Camp Thread

First off, anybody planning on going?

I took a friend's kid many years ago and didn't really enjoy it.  This was under Lovie if memory serves.   Couldn't get any good sight lines to anything and kids get bored fast.  I am thinking about going just because I am so jacked for season.

I haven't decided if I want to go or not.  More and more people are posting videos of each practice and I could care less about autographs.  I also don't want to lose a good spot when I have to go to bathroom or eat if I go by myself.

I just want to see their practice structure and get an idea of their size in person.  I'd much rather be in meetings and film review to be honest

I'm thinking about family fest this year, mostly just to watch 3yr old daughter try and lay out a player.  She tackles 8 year olds with ease (and noise)

Technique, or no? :D

I wish I could get out and watch camp, but it ain't gonna happen...

I keep thinking about getting back for one but Midwestern humidity in late July make me sweat just thinking about it.

I did attend one in Platteville many moons ago and that was fun but it was also back when the '85 Bears were a gathering storm for that season and they were one crazy bunch.

I work outside, avoid the area at all costs right now. It's either 55 and rain, or 88 and rain. Lost 3lbs yesterday from morning until 3, and that was the _cool_  day this week

I too work outside, cool day my rear end.  It was near 100 on the heat index until the storms started ripping in.

Yep, lots of bad storms back that way.  My Pop lives just west of Milwaukee and I have other family around Chicagoland and Downstate so I try to keep up with the weather in the Midwest as much as possible.

And even though I grew up in all that humidity after 35 years of living in Colorado I've become a ***** when it comes to high humidity summer and winter.  You can only get so naked in the summer and only wear so much winter clothing to fight it.

It's actually fairly humid here right now (70%) but it's only 75 degrees.  By later this afternoon when temps hit near 90 the humidity will be less than 50% plus we have a nice 8-10 mph breeze blowing in my windows.

So it's comfortable now without the A/C but by late afternoon I suspect it won't be.

In pass pro I am not really worried about the OL. But in the run game they were pretty mediocre. Howard missed holes, definitely. But he was getting hit behind the LOS way more than I saw the previous two years. Also I hope they have found it in Coward or someone who can step in for Long when he gets hurt for a bit, as projecting him to play 16 healthy games seems like you're really betting against house odds. There is a lot of youth though, both OTs had solid years, etc. Just needs to see depth shine some for me to be more comfortable with them.

I want to see the nasty streak the Bears OL showed when Long and Mills were drafted. They were aggressive SOBs, then the next year Slauson came in and was a bully too. You get to see flashes of dominance from Long still, Whitehair will upend someone once or twice a game, Daniels gets under people and will get them out of the way, etc. But I don't remember seeing 5-6 guys from the LOS (our offense and the opposing defense combined) getting up after the play nearly as much as I hoped for. Just way too many people standing around at the whistle IMO. I want to see some aggression on the field. Maybe that is why Larsen is here, he isn't talented but he is at least mean. If the rest of the guys can just get that mean streak consistently and not be a dumb*** like Larsen with the fights then the Bears are absolutely golden in the trenches.
