When I first started watching the team, I always thought Dontarrius Thomas would be a very good LB for us. Not sure what happened to him and why he didn't pan out.

DT just wasn't all that talented.  He was probably over-drafted (in the 2nd round).  I'm not sure I ever saw a high ceiling for him.

I would personally also have Greenway and Eddie McDaniel on the list, definitely over EJ Henderson (who I think has been overrated by many) and Kendricks.  They could both be included on an honorable mention basis, along with Jack Del Rio (who, while he didn't make his name in MN, was very good in his time here).

Del Rio only played 4 years with the Vikings (really 3.5 since he missed half of his final season due to injury I guess). He went to one Pro Bowl (in 1994) and was the best LB on the team his other 2 full years. He was good but I think his stint in Minnesota was too short to earn a top 10 spot.

McDaniel has a better case. His career AV was 54, matching EJ Henderson's. Like Henderson, he went to one Pro Bowl (in 1998) and started for 7 years. McDaniel was the best LB on the team for much of that time, while Henderson mainly was 2nd best to Greenway over that stretch. The Vikings defense wasn't great in either era (late 90s for McDaniel, late 2000s for Henderson).

Agree their careers were both better than Kendricks so far.
