That would make sense. He’s good on special teams and there’s no sense cutting ties with an experienced player who’s been through the offseason install prematurely. If we get an injury early in the year, it makes more sense to bring Smith back in week 5 to cover, rather than signing someone off the street. Barring anything like that, I think he’s done in Tampa.
