Shanedorf 2,540 Posted July 15 We'll get this one started by talking about RT extraordinaire, Bryan Bulaga PackersWire has some PFF comments/grades on Mr Bulaga, based on his 2018 performances "His pass-blocking grade during the 2018 season was the sixth-highest ever recorded by PFF, which has graded every game and season since 2006. He allowed only five sacks and 22 total pressures over 14 games and 559 pass-blocking snaps. His 84.1 pass-blocking grade trailed only Mitchell Schwartz among right tackles last season " PFF recently named Bulaga and left tackle David Bakhtiari the NFL’s second-best offensive tackle duo, noting the pair’s dominance in pass-blocking situations. Together, the pair gives new coach Matt LaFleur and veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers the luxury of having reliable bookends to the offensive line "
Shanedorf 2,540 Posted July 15 via PackersWire: According to Pro Football Focus, the Packers’ presumed starting five offensive linemen consisting of David Bakhtiari, Lane Taylor, Corey Linsley, Billy Turner and Bryan Bulaga is good enough to earn the No. 8 spot among all 32 NFL teams entering the 2019 season. Shanedorf 2,540 Posted July 15 “No offensive linemen with 300 or more offensive snaps played earned a higher overall grade than Packers’ David Bakhtiari (88.3),” the PFF analysis team wrote. “The stalwart left tackle turned in a league-high 93.6 pass-blocking grade along with his above-average 68.1 run-blocking grade. That may or may not be Preston Smith's arse in the picture below

Shanedorf 2,540 Posted July 15 From The Athletic Lane Taylor seems to be the offensive starter with the most to prove during training camp. Virtually every other position — from quarterback to wide receiver to center — is solidified along the top line of the depth chart, but the Packers suddenly have an abundance of guards to choose from. Assuming free-agent signing Billy Turner is entrenched on the right, which has been the case since he arrived, Taylor is likely competing with Elgton Jenkins, Lucas Patrick, Justin McCray and Cole Madison for his spot in the starting lineup. AlexGreen#20 4,269 Posted July 15 No reason to sit Taylor and change up a left side that's working very well. Taylor has a clear talent lean on the other guys in the group except for Jenkins, and Jenkins will be a rookie. Next year is where the competition gets interesting with Taylor heading into free agency after that season. Hard to imagine the Packers writing that check. Packers are sitting at # 2 in the league in OL spending for 2019, behind only the cowboys Next year they drop down to number 5 (lots of moving parts on that ranking) Either way, Taylor isn't getting paid in GB and that's probably why they spent a 2nd on a G/C https://overthecap.com/positional-spending/
boratt 134 Posted July 15 (edited) Bulaga probably not getting paid either. Turner might have to swing out to guard next season, which is concerning, cuz he’s not the pass protector Bulaga is. Edited July 15 by boratt
boratt 134 Posted July 15 But if Rodgers can buy into running the ball a little more we won’t have to have top tier pass protectors like that.

If you go here, it will tell you if they are PS eligible. Click on the box for any player and then hit practice squad button and it will either allow it, or come back with a message saying "player X isn't eligible" You can also sort by position, so its a cool tool for building a 53 + 10 http://content.packersnews.com/packersnews/roster/builder.php?x=
