Aaron Ashby (AAA) 6 starts, 27.2 IP, 12.69 K/9, 2.93 ERA, 3.46 FIP, 3.24 xFIP, 63.8% GB%, 0.65 HR/9, .254 BABIP The two things he needs to work on are walks (5.53 BB/9) and HR/FB rate (18.2%). His strand rate has never really been great either but it's up to 74.5% this year from the mid-60s in years prior. Ethan Small (AA) 6 starts, 27.2 IP, 14.96 K/9, 2.60 ERA, 2.83 FIP, 3.41 xFIP, 79.8% LOB%, 0.33 HR/9 His walk rate is also pretty damn high (6.18 BB/9) and his BABIP is stupid high (.362) but he's not giving up a lot of contact since his overall BAA is .191 even with the high BABIP. People wanna say it's the players but just look at Billy McKinney this year. Billy McKinney w/Brewers: 100 PA, .207/.260/.359, 66 wRC+ Billy McKinney w/Mets: 56 PA, .269/.356/.635, 170 wRC+ That'll obviously change a bit after tonight but it's just an example. Haines just doesn't have these guys prepared. How often do we take advantage of mistake pitches? Marquez threw a TON of meat tonight and we either missed it completely, fouled it off, or pounded it into the dirt.
