Seahawks DL Jarron Reed suspended 6 games

I need the league to be consistent. This news just is ridiculous after the Tyreek non suspension especially with a lot of the same language being presented.

This is a blow for the Seahawks. Big dent.

Props to the league for continuing to be the Joe Flacco of consistency with matters like this - in that they are consistently inconsistent. Suspending him for something he wasn't arrested or charged for, while not doing the same for another player with extensive history and an audio tape of him threatening someone is just ridiculous.

In light of the Hill ruling, this seems.... inconsistent. Best guess is this stems from an April 2017 incident, where Reed was neither arrested or charged. That being said, who knows if additional information came out regarding this issue.

As for the Seahawks this is a huge blow to easily the weakest unit. Here is what Seattle has to offer at DT post Reed.

Poona Ford and Al Woods seemed poised play the two largest amount of snaps. But both offer similar skill sets.

Quinton Jefferson is probably penciled in place of Reed. He started at the 5 Tech last year where he was …. meh. Drafted to play this position though, so we will see how he adjusts.

Naz Jones makes sense too, but he was pushed outside this offseason to play the 5 tech. Apparently he plays too undisciplined (penetrating opposed to occupying) for what Seattle wants from their interior line men.

6th Rounder Demarcus Christmas doesn't have the skill set to replace Reed and is a long shot to even make the team.

2018 3rd Rounder Rasheem Green could see some snaps inside, but with Ziggy out indefinitely, he will probably spend most of his time lining up on the edge.

Maybe one of the futures/UDFA step up in pre-season.

No way to slice it, tough pill to swallow as a fan.

Purely speculating here, but looking across the league at similar systems (or even systems run by disciples of Pete), Dallas looks like it has more serviceable DT's than it's going to be able to keep; added 3 rookies to a unit already containing Tyrone Crawford and Maliek Collins.

Was going to come and post something similar. Wonder if they make a call to Wilkerson?

Corey Liuget and Haloti still out there too.  I'd contend Wilkerson projects to have the better skillset for who he'd be covering for, but if you're looking at who would project better to slide over and play alongside Reed when he's back, that might actually be Liuget.
