Assuming byes for the Pats, Chiefs, Rams and Saints still?

I think the Eagles win - that's about it. The other three games really weren't that competitive and I don't think a change of scenery changes that unless you change the byes too.

Eagles only win that game IMO if Brooks and most especially Fletcher Cox don't get injured. The second Cox had to go out and attempted to come back here and there trying to play hobbled. The Saints and Brees had their way.

Doubt that changes in Philly either unless the weather (Don't Remember) would of been a factor??

If Brooks and Cox were healthy that whole game. Eagles win regardless, and very well may have repeated TBH.

Eagles have had McVay's number so far.

Patrick Mahomes would put up 40+ in a dome.

That Missouri snowstorm slowed everyone down a bit

Luck would also manage more than 6 points in the friendly confines of Indianapolis, but not nearly enough to keep up with the Chiefs race car-like offense

Yeah, I would have rather faced the Saints instead of Philly if the location was static between the 2 options.

Both games were close score wise but Philly was the better team by far. It's really that Wade has had his lunch eaten by Pederson. The offense outside of 2 truly terrible Goff plays last year was par for what we'd expect.

The way the Rams owned both the offensive and defensive line of scrimmage running it down the Cowboys throat and shutting down Zeke, it doesnt matter where that games was played. The result wouldve stayed the same and the Rams wouldve still won.

Chargers are better off playing on the road then at the soccer stadium they are renting while they are homeless.

I'm not saying that we would've beaten the Pats if the game was in LA.

But that's certainly not true. The Pats record at home is ridiculous in the playoffs - they are 20-3 in the Brady/Belichick era. There's no way having to go play there in January is better.

Even if it was like 70% Pats fans at that game that's still much better being able to sleep in your own bed and play in your own timezone/climate than having to go travel completely across the country to play in zero degrees weather against a crowd that is 99.9% Patriots fans on a 10AM Sunday game like we actually did.

People seem to act like fans/crowd noise is the only element to HFA. It's not.

I think our team gets too comfortable at home. Discomfort is good. Our team plays better under pressure and with the thought of being an under dog. We didn’t lose that game because of New England having home field advantage. We lost that game because we were beating up from playing a physical teams from the AFC North, and our divisional rivals the last six weeks in a row. The tank was just too empty going into that game to beat a team loaded like the Patriots are.

I mean, if Jeffery catches that ball the eagles probably win that game. I think that is the only game that probably would have had a different outcome. Dome teams on the road outdoors in the playoffs dont have a great record.

Could not agree more about the second sentence. Its part of the reason I think the Rams take a step back next year, and why the niners are going to incorporate some wide-9 next year. I think schwartz put it on film

You lost the game against the patriots because you had a horrendous defensive gameplan. You tried to play Brady the exact same way you played lamar jackson. Lots of dbs on the field rather than LBs, lots of zone coverages... they ran it down your throat and had guys wide open from the moment the game started. It was pretty pathetic actually. It doesnt matter where that game was played, Josh McDaniels made gus bradley and anthony lynn his *****

I dont know why you say 'too comfortable' at home, when you played in a stadium that seated 25k and was always 80% of the other team's fans. People often joked that the chargers played 16 road games last year.

Its the playoffs, 'running out of gas' is not an excuse unless you have injuries.

You played in the exact same timeslot in the exact same timezone the week before. Traveling east sucks for sure but I dont think it would have mattered either way. You could have gotten two weeks to prepare and it wouldnt have mattered, it was a terrible gameplan and you got absolutely steamrolled by a far superior, well oiled machine.

The chargers lose that game 10/10 times. I was rooting for the chargers too, but as a niners fan I am glad that BB got to show the world that he is mcvay's daddy

We played DB’s because our linebackers were hurt. Out of gas, out of subs. Too comfortable at home is the mentality of our players, which is why we lose more often at home then on the road. On the road you expect the hostility and prepare for it. There is zero advantage for us at the soccer stadium we rent. If our quarterback does sleep in his own bed he’s still driving two hours to get to the game. Patriots were a better team. They are too good to expect to contend with if you come in flat. Chargers came in flat.

The Eagles are 2-0 against McVay, but it's not quite that simple. Last season when we played the Eagles it was in the midst of a horrible three game stretch for the offense. Those games came against Detroit, Chicago and Philly. The Detroit game we won because of the talent disparity, but it was just as bad an offensive performance as we had against Philly. We lost to Philly last year because of Fletcher Cox. In fact, in our three losses where the offense was to blame last year, our interior offensive line was overwhelmed.

The year before, McVay hung 28 points on the Eagles. That loss was on our defense more than our offense.

Finally, for your wide 9 comment - that's not going to do it. Part of the reason John Sullivan wasn't retained is because he's done physically. He was dominated by the Bears, Eagles and Patriots. The Niners would need players like Fletcher Cox to duplicate that success - and that's assuming Brian Allen won't be a massive upgrade, which he might be.
