I want Udoh to make it but if he’s good enough to roster they should pick one of Hill and Norton not both. It does seem like a lot, but I think that they’ll keep Hill as the swing tackle for 2019, letting him leave in 2020. I did think about Collins in Norton’s spot because he can presumably play tackle or guard. But he’s rarely healthy it seems. From everything I’ve read, the team like Norton and Udoh, so I don’t think they’d want to risk losing either trying to stash them on the practice squad. 7 minutes ago, Krauser said: How do you see the kickers being used that they’d keep Bailey? I think that Vedvik will be the punter, kickoff specialist, and long field goal kicker. With Bailey kicking shorter distances and extra points. Not 100% confident in that, but reading observations from camp yesterday, Wile didn’t touch the ball during team drills, and Bailey was practicing as the holder on kicks. You really think Ham will be cut? Blasingame has been impressive as a rookie but outside of being cheaper not sure Ham is that bad. Blasingame has showed a ton as a pass catcher though and is very versatile, not sure they cut Ham for him however. Treadwell I would not mind trading him but unless that happens he makes the roster. Badet is not really needed and if it is between Badet and Treadwell that is not even a conversation. Johnson might make the team but only as a return man if they are interested in that. Again doubt Badet makes it unless he is considered a gunner type of special teams, does have good speed which could help his cause. With Ameer as the return man if that is out of the question Johnson I think might get the return man nod over Beebe but maybe Beebe could do it. But with Ameer since Mattison and especially Boone has looked so good Ameer might have a hard time making the squad. Dozier looked great a OT I feel, if he keeps that up I would not mind him as the backup OT over Hill possibly but will see. Not sure I would keep Watts over Jaleel but Watts did show up decent against Seattle and did a few things. I agree with Thomas making it, I liked how he looked against Seattle. Loved seeing Kearse make those big plays in the backfield that was great to see. Again with Hikutini not sure he makes it, honestly if they put him on the PS just in case someone gets injured I doubt anyone would pick him up. Oh and give me Sloter as the #2 over Mannion all day long, better arm talent and he is such a better athlete which fits perfectly in this offense I feel. He can roll out and move and is a good ball handler. Give me him even though Mannion has done ok in the preseason, Sloter is the better of the two I feel. If he can stay healthy he makes sense as a backup outside receiver. Bisi has 2 catches in the NFL preseason to date, one of which was wide open. They could keep him instead of Badet but then I don’t know who’s the KR (not that that matters much).

Quote Dozier looked great a OT I feel, if he keeps that up I would not mind him as the backup OT over Hill possibly but will see. Still can’t imagine cutting Hill when he’s playing half decent with the starters and has considerable starting experience. I think they might see Dozier as their best backup G and wanted to see if he could hold up at LT, where he was OK. That flexibility helps on game days. Quote Not sure I would keep Watts over Jaleel but Watts did show up decent against Seattle and did a few things. I agree with Thomas making it, I liked how he looked against Seattle. Again with Hikutini not sure he makes it, honestly if they put him on the PS just in case someone gets injured I doubt anyone would pick him up. Jaleel just isn’t getting it done so far this year. Watts has more long term upside, so if he can hold up as a backup DT, they might let Jaleel go. That assumes that Linval comes back healthy and they can use Stephen rotationally at NT and Holmes sometimes on early downs at 3T. They had to outbid the Niners to get Hikutini on the PS last year. He’s already 25 and in his 3rd year. They can keep Dillon on the PS, so if they don’t roster Hikutini (maybe they won’t, but I like the idea of keeping 4 TEs if they’re often going to be using 2 or 3 of them), they’ll probably lose him on waivers. vike daddy
Dalvin Cook is expected to be the Vikings featured back, and Zimmer said a little over a week ago that rookie Alexander Mattison has impressed. Zimmer: “I’ll try to say this the correct way — I think Mattison has got a really bright future. I think the other two guys can help in change-of-pace situations.” That would be Ameer Abdullah and Mike Boone, who could both end up making the roster if the Vikings decide to keep four running backs as they did a year ago. https://www.vikings.com/news/vikings-roster-spots-current-offense-mikezimmer-era-trends?sf217897257=1 Edited August 22, 2019 by vike daddy

SteelKing728
Who helped and hurt their case after the week 3 game? I think the biggest winners are Bisi Johnson and Mike Boone.

I think the biggest winners are Bisi Johnson and Mike Boone. I agree with those guys both being big winners. As far as losers, Abdullah is the loser of the Boone win. It is hard to pick out who was the loser of the WR battle because they have all been so bad it is hard to say who the competition was there. But, I'll say that Beebe was a loser as he had the WR3 job well in his grasp and he not only didn't solidify that but opened the door to calling it into questions. With how bad the WRs have been I am starting to think that the Vikings may be best off keeping Treadwell around for the year if they can't trade him. And that is pretty sad. Jayron Kearse continues to look nice but I am not sure what he really wins based on that as he still isn't the starter. Same can be said of Sloter. Balsingame helped his chances a lot. And that hurts Ham's chances. The team can't really keep two FBs, can they?
