Chiefs_5627
For a 4th (can become a 3rd). https://nfltraderumors.co/breaking-browns-trade-rb-duke-johnson-to-texans/ Edited August 8, 2019 by Chiefs_5627
Texansfan713
Not bad. Texans will get a comp pick anyway (if clowney walks) to make up for the pick they give up. duke is one of the best receiving backs in the league.
ET80
I'll take it, seems like a solid fit. Was talking about Duke since he made his first trade demand, so this lines up with what what I wanted. (Well, I WANT Saquan, you can ask @Forge). Looks good on the 36 headed GM, solid move.
pnies20
Wow.... although Texans really need a RB I can’t help but think the Browns won this deal. Duke has to come off the field every other play because he’s hurt. Like the guy but he needed to go.
Forge
That's actually a really solid return for the Browns, I think.
Forge
McKinnon would have been cheaper. Just saying.
BleedTheClock
Much higher compensation than I thought the Browns would get. I never wanted to trade him, but I am also excited to see what he does with an increased role. minutemancl
I like Duke a lot, but given the trade price for RBs recently, I can't help but think the Texans got hosed a bit here. How surprising, the team without a GM didn't get good value in a trade. It's almost like you need a GM.

I do wonder who Dorsey negotiated with on the Texans side. In my experience, negotiating as a group usually goes super well.
TheKillerNacho
Sooo... someone is making decisions for the Texans.

The agreed upon price was a little high, but - eh, just happy to see life out of this FO. 1 minute ago, TheKillerNacho said: Sooo... someone is making decisions for the Texans. Question is, who? ReggieCamp
If Duke stays healthy, Houston will not regret this trade.
DawgX
A 4th was about the highest I expected. If it can turn into a third, then that's awesome. Duke is a good player, though. I think Houston fans will like him. He's a very good change-of-pace back - he's just not a feature back.

He’s one of the hardest runners I’ve seen. Breaks tackles like crazy and elusive. He’s never *really* injured but has to come off the field cause his body broke in half after being tackled by a big linebacker . Deals with soft tissue injuries (hasn’t practiced since day one). Has a problem with fumbles too. But basically hes Darren sproles

Injuries are the only issue with him, so, yeah, this could be an awesome pickup. You guys got such a great weapon in the passing game...a really nice safety valve. Wish him the best.
