Matt LaFleur: Aaron Rodgers will play 'a quarter or so' on Thursday vs. Baltimore

I was listening to this 24/7 Packers thing today and it plays all the interviews. I found out Matt calls the GM "Gutey"

I'm sure everyone but me knew that, but that's funny to me.

the idea that y is sometimes a vowel always seemed so asinine to me.  Why not just say most words need vowels, but not rhythm

We can accept that case but it still seems like Y is performing the role of a vowel in eg. “ally” or “very”, where it produces sounds that are in other cases made by unambiguous vowels

The idea is supposed to be that every syllable needs a vowel.

then what is going on in the THM part of rhy-THM?

It's just one of those things that is always gonna have exceptions.

Unless you have to buy a "y" on wheel of fortune for ver"y" and not for "y"ellow, I will take my free spin and solve the puzzle Pat:

English is super weird when it comes to syllables imo. I just searched syllables for rythm because I wasn't sure if it's one or two and I found this:

How many syllables in rhythm?

  1 syllable

Divide rhythm into syllables:   rhythm
How to pronounce rhythm:   rith-um

Dafuq?

I thought the same but it turns out it's one syllable. English is for weirdos

Rhythm is technically one syllable
