Runaway Jim
If he has a year left and then gets a five year extension doesn’t that mean the money is paid out over six years?
matt79511
Now if everyone else would just take $5M per year less than the highest paid guy

I guess shredding your knee and then working to get back to where you were might give you perspective that others might not have, like getting my money now vs waiting for more money and possibly getting injured. Happy for him. Never thought he'd physically be anywhere near back to where he is. Really a great story for a great young man.

So we get one of the best, young linebackers in the league locked up for $12.8MM per year - great job front office. Full contract is for 7 years, $69.5M. Unreal.

WizardHawk
So not sure if it is before or after Jaylon’s deal or how accurate, but someone on Twitter posted Dallas cap situation as 19: $24m 20: $64m 21: $155m Edit: this is before new deal Edited August 21, 2019 by WizardHawk
Tony7188
So happy. We got Jaylon Smith signed. Great character, settled for less and deserves every penny of his new contract. He represents what we want the Dallas Cowboys to be. Edited August 21, 2019 by Tony7188
plan9misfit
I’m really happy for him. He’s always been a high character guy and a great teammate. When he destroyed his knee in the Orange Bowl, I couldn’t find a single person who wasn’t rooting for him to recover. And now, he’s not only fully recovered, but has become one of the elite LBs in the NFL, finished his college degree in May, and takes nothing for granted. If I was willing to spend money on this team (I still won’t), his jersey would be the first one I’d buy. I may be a Michigan man, and he might be a Domer, but I love that guy. Matts4313
I still am unclear why we were able to sign him at all. He only has 3 accrued years.... Did we get some sort of exception?
buddy_z34
Let this guy keep proving everyone wrong. I love it!! I dont want to jinx the guy and buy his Jersey though. Lol
