  1. 1. Who Has Better Handles, LeBron or Kobe?

LeBron loses his handle more often than Kobe, but I'd rather have him running sets than Kobe. I'd also rather have him bringing it up the floor and going coast-to-coast.

Kobe had better ball security and finesse, and arguably better moves, but LeBron TRIES more moves. LeBron also tries to dribble penetrate a lot, something that Kobe was more methodical about doing. Kobe would work you like a tactician, whereas LeBron just wants to bully you, using his speed, power, size, and athleticism.

I go back on this everyday, so although I'm feeling Kobe right now, I'm sure I'll feel LeBron at some point next week.

But the real answer is that handles are kinda overrated.

You young whipper snappers don't seem to be old enough to remember prime Kobe.

LeBron is the best slasher in the history of the NBA. If Kobe could get to the hoop the way LeBron can he'd have been the GOAT. Kobe might do a bit fancier dribbling I suppose but he used it more to create separation on mid range shots.

I'm probably older and have been watching BBall longer than you, or at least around the same time.

What are "handles?"

Open to interpretation but I’d say it’s primarily a combination of

-ability to safely navigate court w/ ball in hand

-ability to create offense through dribble moves

It’s close. Both good handles, neither extraordinary. I give nod to Kobe by virtue of handling the ball slightly more throughout his career, and usually against guards. Much easier to dribble circles around frontcourt players than guards IMO.

Handles are pretty but they are so overrated.

So on that note who has better handles John Stockton or every starting point guard in the NBA right now?

Answer probably every starting point guard in the NBA. Speed, foot speed, and change of speeds as well as changing of directions matter far more than any handle. Just saying
