A bit different when you're putting your body on the line on a weekly basis and suffering from constant injuries.

Plus at least Andrew Luck contributed to the Colts.

Every player is going through the same thing.

And we should wish ever player a happy and healthy retirement.

It's just a game.

It's the timing that irks me. If he did this earlier in the offseason that's fine. But doing this a week before thecopener is a major inconvenience to the team.

He is a mentally weak coward then.

No, he's a human being with a family who doesn't want to risk permanent injury in later life and so has walked away from the game.

He has every right to make that decision and all the best to him in his future.

The same thing applies to all of the other players.

Brissett has been going as the #1 since Luck injured his leg, the expectation of the last few weeks has been he would miss regular season time. This changes nothing other than him now being certain to not be back.

When is losing a franchise QB not a major inconvenience lol

There is nothing else the Colts could have done about this even if they knew at the time of the draft.

And they aren't retiring a week before the season starts.

Technically he had informed the Colts a couple of weeks ago, but it doesn't matter when he made that decision, he's made it, and we have to move on.
