Without knowing his situation, alot of LA kids come over and put on a lot of weight because of the horrible food options that are constantly readily available in the US. (See Maitan, Kevin.) If getting him in a big league clubhouse gets him away from fast food and let's him reshape his body a little bit, it might be a good long term thing for his defense.
