Thaiphoon
It's time ladies and gents! Time for ADOPT-A-REDSKIN (AAR)! What is AAR? This is the time of year where Redskins players, each waiting to be adopted into your forum home, can be adopted by you. Once the bidding starts, you bid against other forum posters. If the player is awarded to you, you become their ombudsman and can rock their stats and accomplishments in your sig. And just general bragging rights. How does AAR work? You mean the rules (other than stay away from Thai's "misfit toys")? Okay here you go. I will allow a few days of discussion here and then will lock the thread Bids do not count unless they are made after the post gets unlocked Each loving forum member has 5 points in which to spend If your bid stands for 24 hours, the player is awarded to you However, if your bid is beaten by another bid within that first 24 hours, the new bidder's 24 hour clock starts for them. Your points are then returned to you and you can either outbid for the player (unless a bid of 5 points were used on that player) or use those points on a different player (*** See example below) Bids of 5 points on a player will result in automatic award of that player to the poster Once a player has been awarded to a poster they can no longer be bid on. And bids for that player will be null and void. So please pay attention to who is available and who isn't You can withdraw points you have spent on players and return them to the adoption agency. That player would be available for adoption. However, if you're returning players to free up points, you must return enough to free up the points you need. So if you have a player that you bid 2 points on...and you need 4 points to outbid someone for another player, you must give up that 2 point player and return them. You cannot spend more than 5 points in TOTAL Stay away from Thai's "misfit toys" Example: a) Say I wanted to bid on Guice. I post that I bid 2 points on Guice. That leaves me 3 points to use on another player. b) I can use those points in the same post on another player or hold them in reserve for a future post. c) If my bid of 2 points stands for 24 hours, I get Guice and now still have 3 points to spend on another player (see b) d) If my bid of 2 points for Guice, gets out bid by another player (say they bid 3 points), then my 2 points get returned to me and I can then try to use (or free up by dropping a player) points to outbid the 3 point bid e) It goes without saying that a 5 point bid is an automatic award of the player to the poster since no one can bid more than 5. f) Stay away from Thai's "misfit toys" AAR will start on Monday, September 2nd at 9pm EST. Oh and stay sway from Thai's "misfit toys"...
