He’s the best tackle in the class don’t overthink it

He’s the best tackle in the class don’t overthink it I know why he was a RT but he was also a RT in HS as well. I wouldn’t say he will switch over no problem because he still has to switch every aspect of his game. It’s not easy to do everything the same way and than switch. His feet will have to be different, hands will have to be different, a majority of his game will have to change. Not everything will transitions to where everything he did in the right side will be the same on the left side. It’s still an unknown Edited March 15, 2020 by buno67

I’ll take the better player and take my chances that he will pan out on the left side over inferior players. He just does everything better than Becton or Thomas. I don’t see any reason to think he won’t be able to eventually translate. Some players I’d agree like Wirfs I think should stay right side actually I think he’s a guard. but go watch him Wills is different it may take some time but he’d be here for a decade it’s worth it to get the better player

Mind Character
There's absolutely no worry in my mind in the slightest that Jedrick Wills will be able to play Left Tackle at the highest level. I sincerely hope teams pass on him b/c he "played on the right-side exclusively." Please, for the love of goodness. ------------------------------------------- The Question: Over the span of traditional scouting analysis modern history, is there a constellation of traits (i.e., Physical and Mental) that lend themselves to making the transition of a Tackle from the right-side of the line to the left side of the line a successful one? Short Answer: Yes. Does the person play with consistent rare natural feel and instincts for the game in their play, does the person possess high level mental acuity, have high level work ethic and diligent investment in their craft, is the person coachable, does the player have easy, precise, and technical feet, does the player have high level functional athleticism, is the player adaptive to change, does the player exhibit the ability to control DLineman via either dominant or week hand/arm, etc.

I can understand if someone cannot move all that well going from left right will be hard, but, if a player is truly a top prospect it shouldnt be insurmountable. I can understand preference. Or if a guy who overly relied on mass like orlando brown jnr could not do both sides. But not a genuine top prospect. That said , if jedrick is that, he will be gone by our pick. candyman93
Draft a LT at 10 and draft a 4.3 burner somewhere. Then let Baker go bonkers.
brownie man
If Isaiah Simmons falls to 8 I really think we could trade up with AZ especially with then trading their second away that Duke pick should be enough

Give Baker no excuse, line, offensive system, weapons, we get to learn who he is as a pro this year after a wasted year. We need a lt and we have a line presuming that we have our gaurd somewhere.

If we can’t scheme around one mediocre guard the coaching staff should just quit football all together.
Mind Character
The Draft-Day Decision HIerarchy: 1.) Jedrick Willls Jr. - RT or LT Doesn't Matter He's an All-Pro 2.) Gamble on Mekhi Becton's Upside & Feel Conflicted and Extremely Uneasy About it the Whole Time 3.) Jeffrey Okudah - Amazing Leadership; The Smartest, Toughest, Most Accountable Prospect in the Top 10 4.) Trade Down 5.) Derrick Brown - Berry and Co. reportedly Love Him, He's Tough, and a Force Against the Run with Pocket Push 6.) Isaiah Simmons - If Used Correctly as a Edge Rusher, NLB, and WLB He Could Be an Important Defensive Match-up Specialist 7.) Andrew Thomas - Competes and Plays with Desired Disposition and Urgency; Coaches Would Have to Feel Like Red Flags and Technical Issues Can Be Overcome

Now that the Cardinals swindled the Texans organization for Nuk Hopkins' talents they will be guaranteed to pass on Jerry Jeudy or CeeDee Lamb and instead likely look for a Right Tackle to compliment their newly re-signed Left Tackle DJ Humphries. They're not taking Derrick Brown and likely would even pass on Jeff Okudah even if he fell due to their belief in Byron Jones and Pat Pete. They might be interested in Isaiah Simmons like all the teams, but I doubt they'd prioritize LB/DP over Tackle. With Wills, Becton, and Okudah off the Board, we absolutely should trade down, but I'm willing to bet that Berry Co. focus in on Derrick Brown. Maybe there's opportunity to trade back some and still get Brown to join the organization given some people's perception of his combine performance.
