College Football and NFL Draft Discussion

I do worry about whatever rookie we draft, they will be heavily impacted by missed practices.

HOWEVER, I like that this situation is a mental break for guys like Kareem, OBJ, and Baker. Limited possibility for distractions and they can just focus on football.

Based on free agency thus far:

1. Mehki Becton, OT, Louisville

2. Antoine Winfield Jr., S, Minnesota

3. Raekwon Davis, DT, Alabama

3. Alex Highsmith, DE, Charlotte

4. Logan Stenberg, OG, Kentucky

6. Tanner Muse, S, Clemson

7. Yasir Durant, OT, Missouri

My best guess is that obj has a excellent season like landry did last year

I don’t know if this is smart strategically, but given the fact practices will be missed. Will teams want more vets than rookies?

It would make a LOT of sense for us to trade a lot of our picks this year for 2021 picks. Keep #10, but Berry and Depo can be trade happy after that and I’d understand it.

I don't know if its possible but my picks would go.

Round 1 10. Jedrick Wills LT

Round 2 41. Antoine Winfield Jr. FS

Round 3 74. Netane Muti RG

Round 3 97. Amik Robertson Slot CB

Round 4 115. Logan Wilson MLB

As a side note if Jedrick Wills is off the board before we pick at 10 then I'm trading down and selecting Robert Hunt.  I will go on record to say I don't want Josh Jones, Austin Jackson, or Ezra Cleveland.

Other than squabbling a bit about best tackle, I'd say our fanbase would be ecstatic over this outcome.

For me, I'll do a little tweak to show my ideal trade down scenario:

Round 1.18 (f/Miami) Andrew Thomas LT - Pro-ready, I like that he blocked for Chubb and that he's got tenacity. It seems most have him as #4 of the big-4, and I personally like them all but Becton so would be okay with a trade-down for value is there if, say Becton and Wills are off the board.

Round 2.09 Antoine Winfield Jr. FS

Round 2.24 (f/Miami) - Justin Madabuike DT - He's gonna be good and might be available here.

Round 3.10 Netane Muti RG

Round 3.26 Amik Robertson Slot CB

Round 4.09 Logan Wilson MLB

Round 4.35 (f/Miami) Jeremy Chinn SS/LB

Round 6.8 Devin Duvernay WR

Love Tanner Muse. He has great anticipation and a sure tackler, I could see him spotting in at LB as well. He’s my sleeper safety in this class. I think his football IQ is up there.

Also, if Raekwon Davis can get it together he’ll be a STEAL in the third.
