Ty21 Posted June 12, 2018 Share Posted June 12, 2018 If ps5 truly does come out in 2020 it'll be roughly 6-7 years since the ps4 came out which is kinda the typical amount of time between consoles but it still seems like it's happening way too fast for me. Feel like they'd have to do something major to distinguish the 5 from the pro. Make 4K cheaper and push beyond it somehow. Smite and Paladins are pretty good at what they are. I like both. In fact at times I have more fun with Paladins than Overwatch. The fact that they are F2P and not P2W is a big win as well. This morning I read an article that the new Halo game is going to be running on a brand new engine and everything was made from the ground up and that will most likely be a launch game of Xbox's new console. You have to wonder if some games that have been in development for this console generation are going to transition into next-gen games... which is why we may not have seen Final Fantasy 7 remake and some other games at this year's E3. Given what a massive game FFVII would have to be to port over, wouldn't surprise me at all. As I mentioned in the other thread, FFVII is such an iconic game, it doesn't have to worry about being released in 2019, 2020, whenever - as long as it's done well, it's going to be a massive cash cow. So it's not like there's an expiry date on releasing it, which makes being a PS5 release pretty plausible IMO. With no E3 footage, hard to believe it will make it by 2019.
