OL Situation

So I figured I’d take a brief break from posting cheeky gifs and sexual innuendo and discuss some football here on FF.

While I think we can all agree this roster is stacked, I think the OL situation is somewhat disconcerting for reasons we’re all aware of.  @Wyld Stallyns was the first to show me this and he deserved the credit for veering me off topic into football related discussions.

This dude, Brandon Thorn, evaluates OL and breaks them down into tiers.  I figured I’d share them.

I’ll post each group individually for ease of quoting.

Meh. We’ve seen the scheme helps shield some of the issues we have with our tackles.

I agree with the placement but Baker gets the ball out quickly and escapes the pocket with ease most of the time.

Ricky Seals-Jones was a good addition. He graded very high in terms of pass blocking, which will also help Robinson.

For sure scheme helps, but I do think it’s fairly accurate regarding our talent level in general.

I think we’re due for a couple quality investments in the group come April.

PFF had us as the 2nd best offensive line last year with a supposed bottom tier RT, near bottom LT, mid-lower tier Center, 2nd tier LG and 2nd tier RG. We do lose a little with the RG position and while I don't think we were 2nd best anyway I doubt we are bottom 5 either. They have Hubbard too low and Tretter too low imo and Robinson too low for what he did last year but he is still a wait and see. We're probably average.

Sorry that’s what I meant by “placement”. I agree with it all. I think we’ll be alright. Where we’ll see the struggle, as I’ve said before, is the run game.

If it were up to me our draft would’ve been:

1. Andre Dillard

2. Elgton Jenkins

3. TE

😂
