FinSting
The past 12-14 months has been non-stop "Rams sign blockbuster contract." How do they do this?

Draft well, I mean we signed two vets in Weddle and Matthews and we're still one of the ten youngest teams. And aside from those big deals we have a bunch of cheaper guys. As long as Snead keeps playing the comp pick formula and trading down well yet still ending up with guys like Rapp, Long and others we'll be good to go.
Jim
Stop driving up Dak's franchise number.

Don't sign bad contracts, don't carry dead weight, have a competent GM.

I don't know what another year would really tell them, he's a solid QB who can execute McVay's system well when unimpeded. They wouldn't be in position to get anyone better most likely. And it'll be a weird year for QBs. You have some old guys at the end of their deals like Rivers, Brees, Eli...and then a bunch of mid tier QBs looking for a fresh start. Like Winston, Mariota, Tannehill Dak's deal is coming up, and seems like he for some reason will be getting more than Goff and Wentz. then a boatload of vet guys looking for jobs Plus there are rules next year how you structure deals with the possible work stoppage, plus the benefit in not having to sign these guys right after a new CBA where the pie will be way bigger.
