They're due for a good season with their constant good-season-bad-season-repeat thing. The Patriots showed us that McVay's offense is most definitely beatable. Washington @ Philadelphia Eagles I don't think Washington's going to start so fast this year. Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets I think this game is close, as per usual with these too, but maybe the Jets aren't ready for Allen and Robert Foster. That might be a good duo this year. Atlanta Falcons @ Minnesota Vikings Never been a real believer in Kirk. Baltimore Ravens @ Miami Dolphins What the hell, why not. Baltimore's roster isn't exactly loaded, and if it takes them a little to adjust to their reportedly new offense, maybe a little Fitzmagic will go a long way. Kansas City Chiefs @ Jacksonville Jaguars I'm with most of the rest of the board here. Mahomes is probably still Mahomes. Tennessee Titans @ Cleveland Browns I think this game might not be the explosive offensive performance for the Browns that some people are expecting, but I expect Chubb & co. to be able to hold the ball and get it done against the Titans, and I think Mariota might start slowly - which probably isn't good for his career at this point. Indianapolis Colts @ Los Angeles Chargers The Chargers ended last season in embarrassing fashion, and they should want to take some anger out on a Colts team that I think has a while to go to regain its mojo. Cincinnati Bengals @ Seattle Seahawks Russell and Lockett show the rest of the NFL they still mean business. San Francisco 49ers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers The 49ers' pass rush should put some stress on Winston, and I think he won't respond as well as they'd like. Plus, I'm a Garoppolo believer at this point. New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys I think this game amounts to the Saquon-Zeke battle, and I think Saquon's lack of a team around him does him in. Detroit Lions @ Arizona Cardinals Kliff has never coached in the NFL before. Kyler has never played in the NFL before. Matt Patricia was the DC for Belichick, who knows how to mess with a rookie quarterback. I think Matt Patricia will do a good job scheming his team into forcing Arizona to turn to low-percentage throws and David Johnson runs. The Cardinals have the element of surprise, but it's not like they're going to unveil something unbelievable and revolutionary. NFL teams have run Air Raid concepts for years. Pittsburgh Steelers @ New England Patriots Give me my homer pick. The Pats defense looks awesome this year. Hopefully they can start fast, and the running game can get moving like it did in January. Houston Texans @ New Orleans Saints The Saints lose on opening day all the time. I'll take my chances that it happens again. Is Brees regressing? Probably not, but we did see a bit of a drop-off in the velocity at times last year. Denver Broncos @ Oakland Raiders Vic Fangio did a hell of a job with Chicago's defense, and now he's still got some talented pieces to work with.
