agarcia34
Irving on 3rd downs will finally give the Raiders that push in the middle. Hope it happens really dont see how it doesn't.

NYRaider
David Irving would be a perfect pickup and could be a steal if he returns to form.

I like the idea also but it would come down to if he is ready. No harm in bringing him in for a tryout and we could bring him along slowly if he needs some time to get into playing shape. He hasn't played since 2018 so I'm sure it'll take him some time to return to form but he has a higher upside then any of the DT's we currently have on the roster. Rod knows him from his time in Dallas as well and he looked like he was going to be a star before he got into trouble. Plus he's only 27, can play inside/outside, and we have a roster spot for him with Ross on IR now.

FS and another impact lineman would be huge We can't let Irving leave without a deal. Then need to sign Thomas or Ha Ha / trade for Marcus Maye or Anthony Harris. agarcia34
There's risk when it comes with Irving, but the reward is worth it. Especially with how the contract will most likely be drawn up. They need to make it happen

If he returns to form he'll essentially be a super charged version of what we wanted Dion Jordan to be.
agarcia34
He would be Dion Jordan on steroids basically.

Well the only incidents he was suspended for were failed drug tests because of weed. He has essentially been out of the league since 2017 so hopefully the couple of years he has had away from the game have helped him mature. Either way it's worth the risk and would be a huge boost for our DL if it works out. When he's on his game he's one of like a handful of DT that can be a 10+ sack guy. We also seem to have the culture and coaching staff to keep him in check and out of trouble like we've done with Darren Waller.
jimkelly02
I was all about bringing Dion Jordan back.... simply because he has length and quickness as an inside rusher.... something Hurst and Collins massively lack. im all for bringing David Irving into the team... as he has that length and quickness plus is more powerful. we need someone who has range.... someone who can reach out at grab a QB, not let him run around him. Bring him in immediately.
