Draft watch 2020

resilient part 2

Recommended Posts

I think so much of the draft is gonna depend on FA. DL and DB are the clear areas of focus with our copious free agents at those spots (Quinn, Bennett, Collins, Covington, Hyder... Jones, Brown, Heath, Thompson). I could see a scenario where we splurge on Quinn + some other teams' fatties and let most of the secondary walk, which would set us up to draft mostly DBs. Or maybe the other way around, but this team has spent significantly more cash on the DL than the secondary of late, despite what some users on here seem to believe.

What?

Henry Ruggs III. I was actually just coming to this thread to say this. I can see a scenario where the DTs and DBs We like are gone at 17, and we take Ruggs. This kid can fly, almost Tyreek Hill fly. Having his speed on the field would add such a dynamic to our offense. I would not be mad at all if he was our pick at 17

If this is with Cooper and Cobb I'll take it. Explosive offense but I just dont see it happening

I hope it doesn't happen cause I think is better depth to this class then meets the eye. But Ruggs could become one of those things we see on Sunday just tap dance around a defense to score 3 TD's on the day with multiple 40+ yard plays.

I just don’t see us letting cooper walk out with the first round puck investment so I just don’t see us taking a WR high

I don’t see it either, but some subscribe to the “iron sharpens iron” philosophy, so they believe that making a current position of strength even stronger makes the team better overall. Many teams have been built that way. Some succeeded, some didn’t. Like anything else, it’s a crapshoot.

Personally, I want the BPA regardless of position. If it’s a WR, take him. If it’s a Safety, take him. If it’s a DT, take him. It’s it’s an OT, take him. If not, trade the pick and work to stockpile them for next year.
