Who are the best teams the Brady/Belichick Patriots have beat in the playoffs?

The Chiefs last year have to be up there? Never expected to go into there and win.

Divisional round, Jan. 10, 2015: Patriots 35, Ravens 31. One of the hardest-fought victories in their run. The Patriots came back from 14-point deficits twice against a fierce Baltimore team. We tend to think of Edelman and Amendola as the stalwarts of this game, and they were: Edelman threw a 51-yard touchdown pass to Amendola to tie it at 28 in the third quarter, and Amendola also had a 15-yard TD catch to knot it at 14 in the second quarter. But the winning touchdown actually was a 23-yarder to Brandon LaFell with 5:13 left

Hell 2004 they really showed how much of a Dynasty they were. 2004 Eagles and Steelers. Them and the Patriots were literally the only teams that mattered that season because those 3 teams were just so much better than everyone else it wasn't even funny and they beat both of them.

Still will make the case for the Greatest Show on Turf in 2001.  That was an amazing team, which was playing on turf. Seven pro bowlers, four hall of famers (which does not include Isaac Bruce, who retired second in receiving yards and fifth in receptions, or Tory Holt).  It further had an underrated defense, with Leonard Little, Aenas Williams, London Fletcher, ect

Plus that was probably one of the last great nickname teams.

Rams GSOT for me.  The Rams losing that Super Bowl was almost of the magnitude of Mike Tyson/Buster Douglas for me.  It's a good thing that I'm not a gambler, because I would have put HUGE money on the Rams to win that game.  Little did we know we were witnessing the rise of the biggest dynasty of our time.

Top Three:

2001 Rams. The Patriots needed to play a near flawless game capitalize on St. Louis mistakes to win that game.

2018 Chiefs. Great team that just crapped out in OT. If they stop the Patriots offense just once in 4th or in OT, they win that game.

2014 Seahawks. Another amazing team that almost pulled off an Eli-esqe finish. It took a huge mistake and a huge play to get out of that one.

Second Tier:

2014 Ravens. Longtime nemesis that just wouldn’t die. Took two 14-point comebacks to vanquish them.

2004 Steelers. Best team in the AFC in the regular season manhandled a Corey Dillon-less Patriots on Halloween. Patriots get the last laugh in Pittsburgh, though.

2001 Steelers. Best defense in the league all season. Good old-fashioned Pittsburgh Steeler trash-mouth football rises to the occasion and the Steelers somehow lose allowing only ONE offensive TD in the entire game.

Honorable Mention:

2006 Chargers. Very good Chargers team that blew a golden opportunity. Marlon McCree should have listened to his coach and just fallen down when he intercepted Brady. The Patriots-as-villains narrative is born when the entire defense backfield dances on the Chargers logo at midfield after the game. Tomlinson cries foul and says the disrespect comes from their coach (Belichick).

Point of interest: the Patriots won the 2001 Super Bowl scoring only three offensive touchdowns the entire playoffs.

~Brady rushing TD vs. Oakland.

~Bledsoe to Patten at Pittsburgh.

~Brady to Patten vs. St. Louis.

All other TDs were scored by the defense and special teams. Never seen anything like that before or since.

That 2001 AFCCG was a really weird game. Bledsoe getting back into the game and scoring that huge TD was crazy.

I'd love to know what the breakdown is on people who thing the dancing copy of the Merriman sack dance was the Patriots being bad vs LaDanian Tomlinson being a completely unhinged punk. I thought it was 100% Tomlinson being a pathetic loser.

If your tough sack guy is going to dance then everyone else gets to dance too.

The Patriots did the TO Eagle celebration in 2004 and I could not care less. I wanted my QB to suck less. Dancing was unimportant to me in that game.

Wow.

Is there some kind of “Post of the Year Award” I can nominate this for? I’m cutting and saving this for posterity. I promise to give credit to you for ANY future use.

You’re a beast, sir.

I remember this, and my reaction was similar to yours - I lost a lot of respect for LT that day for choosing to highlight THIS over a game lost on a lack of composure by his teammates.
