That is disturbing.

There should have been major adjustments on both sides of the ball.

I mean, you're not totally wrong. But it's kind of hard to make adjustments when the team couldn't stop committing penalties. And the defense played decently until the fourth quarter when it appeared that they basically just gave up.

If by giving up you mean having 3 interceptions thrust upon you I agree

Baker simply isn’t ready to run a high powered 11 personnel offense. Last year Freddie ran a “gimmicky” offense that was simpler for Baker. It consisted of:

--Baker only having to read half the field
--Mass protection on many plays
--Plays designed to get the first read open quickly
--Having multiple TEs to help w/blocking
--Keeping a back in to help w/blocking
--Trickeration to keep D's off-balance

On early downs in 2018, the Browns used:
11 pers: 56%
12 pers: 21%

In the preseason, Kitchens completely changed:
11 pers: 85%
12 pers: 12%

What did we see in 2019?
11 pers: 92%
12 pers: 6%

Note: Baker dominated from 12/13 in 2018

I am not near totally wrong.

The most egregious example was Wilkes not instructing and positioning players to take away the screen play TD. They already had shown it once and would have had a TD on the first try if the receiver didn't drop the pass.

Just as obviously on the O, slants and other quick-hitting pass plays would have helped Mayfield a lot.
