Skinsin2013
I came here to post something along the lines of this topic. So it's nice to see there's already a topic here. My belief is that the Skins have absolutely killed themselves in the past by grossly mismanaging personnel, in particular through the draft. The RG3 trade up stands out the most. But the NUMBER of picks made is right up there. Thirdly, the lack of first rounders. Finally, the number of picks made in the 6th and 7th rounds. 2003 - 3 2004 - 4 2005 - 6 2006 - 6 2007 - 5 2008 - 10 (5 in final 2 rounds) 2009 - 7 (3 in final 2 rounds) 2010 - 6 (4 in final 2 rounds) 2011 - 12 (6 in final 2 rounds) 2012 - 9 (4 in final 2 rounds) 2013 - 7 (no first round pick) 2014 - 8 (no first round pick) 2015 - 10 (4 in final 2 rounds) 2016 - 7 (3 in final 2 rounds) 2017 - 10 2018 - 9 2019 - 10 (2 first rounders) The last three drafts are where we should be as a rebuilding team. I won't go into the picks made. But I'm happy to see us using maximum bullets in the chamber and filling up with young talent. Edit to add a trend of first 5 rounds picks: 4, 2, 6, 5, 5, 5, 6, 5, 6, 5, 7. Not as bad as I thought really. The RG3 trade still has impacts even to this IMO. It looks as though the Skins have recognized the importance of playing catch up, which is a good thing. lavar703
This may seem crazy but they have to consider opening up negotiations on a long term deal with Flowers. He’s been pretty impressive at LG and this last game may have been his best. Get him and Scherff locked in and then try and patch things with Trent after Bruce is gone. McCloughan was the one that accumulated draft picks for us, Bruce trades them away.
