Other teams are going to score no matter what.  I just want them to earn it with pain.

Better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Lay the wood, then after flags take it back a hair and keep them hearing footsteps.

You seem him blow up that blocking RB on a blitz?

Yeah exactly. He'll help us be physical in the box too, which is a big deal.

If you can get stops and force 3rd down, which Abram is known for (all the chase down plays short of the sticks), you create more chances for your team to make a play. Which we were able to do on some 3rd and shorts. Little things win games.

Was his wrist broken the last two years at Mississippi State? I like Abram and want him to succeed but there were questions about his coverage ability at State. He got picked on during the Alabama game last year a lot, IIRC. On passing downs, Gunther had more faith in Curtis Riely than he had in Abram to make plays in coverage.

Literally, every major scouting/draft publication has said the same thing about Abram. He's a high energy, violent striker, who's amazing in run support but has average instincts in coverage and will need to improve tremendously as a cover guy to be a 3 down player. They all said that he's reckless at times too and we saw that last night with that 15-yard penality/freak injury to Conley. He's strictly an in the box safety right now.

You keep bring up Curtis Riley, but Riley excel's in coverage, wouldn't you have your best coverage safety out there over a rookie playing his first game in too. You putting too much on it at this point.

We drafted a safety in the first round that has to be benched on passing downs... Curtis Riley is a fringe roster player.
