jch1911
Boooooo.... not a fan. Makes him 2nd / 3rd highest paid center in league based on APY. $$$ could have been better spent elsewhere.

ET80
So, we question whether or not Clowney is worth being paid because of an injury sustained on a playing surface that was sub optimal. He's "fragile" because he missed time, but hasn't missed a game in a few seasons. Meanwhile, Martin has yet to play a full 16 season in his career - gets a 3yr/$18mm GTD extension. Glad we sorted this out...?
Pastor Dillon
Wow. Cut Colvin but yet we extended Martin? Did they not watch the line last night?

Glad we sorted this out...? And the team has objectively played better with Mancz and Fulton at Center and has two guards on rookie deals. Even if Howard or Sharping kick out to RT (which needs to happen sooner rather than later) this pretty much assures us that Zach Fulton, our best pass protector, is a lame duck who will be cut after this season since he has no guaranteed money (not that that seems to matter to O'Brien who is like a drunk who goes to pick up his credit card days after leaving it open at the bar). On one level, I get it, as we have no draft picks to build with, but Martin seems to still be living off "potential" to be like his brother despite being a subpar performer in any possible measurement. Last year in his only healthy season, he was the 5th highest PFF ranked center in our division behind two Colts. Stop compounding errors, especially when there is no net benefit for doing so. It's not like Martin's value was going to skyrocket past being the 3rd highest paid C even if he finally stayed healthy and figured things out. For the life of me, I do not understand how we have a center that cannot deliver a shotgun snap above the shoestrings which seems like a basic prerequisite. From a cap management standpoint, I don't understand why we wouldn't structure this as a 4 year deal so we could move a big chunk of the bonus into THIS YEAR where we are burning $36 million in cap. O'Brien seems to be shamelessly spending on "his side" of the ball while flushing talent and money down the toilet on RACs side. BTW - Tell me firing RAC isn't the next mug to tip over in BOb's drunk on power spree.
