Did a little checking myself and this is what I saw at least:

1st TD pass: 4 man rush

2nd TD pass: Weak side LB blitz

3rd TD pass: zero blitz

4th TD: normal 4 man rush

5th TD: another zero blitz

So assuming the stat above was correct, that puts Lamar now at 18 TD's and 1 INT vs. the blitz, which speaks to his ability to effectively make quick decisions (and credit to the play designs and receivers for giving him options to throw to when he's facing pressure).

The 6 TD/4 INT ratio vs. 3 or 4 man rushes is noteworthy in that it really just gets to @M.10.E's point that the way to beat any QB is to get the most amount of pressure with the least amount of rushers. But you also just can't sit back and exclusively play 3 and 4 man rushes because of the threat Lamar poses with his legs, not to mention if you're allowing him to consistently get comfortable in the pocket he has the ability to pick you apart with his arm.

In short, Lamar is good.

Not to mention that at LEAST one of those INTs was a tip drill from his receiver/shouldn't have been upheld upon review (the Pitt game).

IIRC, 2/3 of his INT's that day should've been overturned but for some reason weren't.

One should have been DPI on MAndrews, and the other was the tip drill INT that actually hit the ground

Lamar is completing a regular season for the ages, so luckily any blemishes on it will be dragged into the proper light. A luxury he wasn't afforded last year.

IE: "Lamar only only had X INTs during his 2019 Season, and X of them weren't his fault" VS "Lamar was awful, exposed, and solely responsible in the Chargers playoff loss"

It's good to be on top.

Lamar confirmed in the postgame comments that he isn't too comfortable throwing a wet football. Given he overhauled his throwing this offseason, it's not surprising. Hopefully the weather stays dry during playoff time, and he can work on this in the offseason.

Given what we now know about Lamar Jackson, next year he's going to come back and be the NFL's highest rated passer in a season in rain games.

Probably worth giving Lamar some reps with wet footballs every week in practice from now on. Literally the only thing that's slowed this offense down over the past 2 months and whether it's Baltimore or Foxboro (or even KC), the only places we're playing in January are gonna carry weather risks.

Ran out of likes, but this is really interesting. He definitely didn’t have his best game, but still above 60% completions isn’t shabby.

Absolutely.

Luckily he has another (elite) trait that he can fall back on. That was why I loved this dude in the draft. If Flacco couldn’t get the pass game going he was dead in the water, but Lamar struggled passing and just proceeded to put up over 100 yds rushing and a rushing TD to boot. Very difficult proposition stopping this offense, for sure.

Lamar's "bad" game in a monsoon is 2 TDs, 200+ yards and one crazy fumble play vs the #1 defense in the league. I'll take it.

Overall he and Wilson had similar performances. Wilson with more yards, but he played in fairer weather and had two turnovers to one score. Lamar had less yards, but two scores to one turnover.

So barring Wilson having the craziest performance we’ve ever seen, Lamar should still stay clear atop as the #1 in the MVP conversation. Even then I think it should be pretty much tied with a slight edge to Lamar.

That said they both have tough roads. Wilson plays the 49ers again. And we have the Bills and Steelers. Without Garrett, I’ll be interested to see if we can’t destroy the Browns. As they shouldn’t have the athleticism/power to challenge the run game and make life difficult for Stanley.
