Guess it'll be Jones.

Not worried about cap space this year at all - next year is when it gets interesting, because a lot of the new contracts (Clark, Mathieu, Hill, Watkins, potentially Jones, Hitchens and Fisher returning to their "normal" base salaries) will explode in their cap numbers ... rough guess, didn't look it up - but the players mentioned will account for at least 120 M$ in cap space. Add Kelce, Schwartz, LDT ... and you are beyond 150 M$.

Target Chris Jones and get him signed!

Otherwise I think we good, give the defense a few weeks to get themselves settled in.

I would love to get Minkah.. He has versatility to cover the slot and TEs. He's also a solid tackler(not counting the Ravens game). He can play both S and CB. With his versatility we can run 3 safety looks at a time but each safety has corner ability/experience; Tyran and Minkah in the slot and Juan and Minkah on the boundary/outside.

Another thing about Minkah is he's on a rookie contract which would be great for us since we will have him cost control for the next several years before even having to think about paying him; if we were to trade for him.

There is a rumor that Fitzpatrick was the target all along. I lean to the Chris Jones group and do not discount the business as usual school of thought.

That said, Minkah Fitzpatrick would be a nice fit. The question is what the Dolphins would want in return.

Just give the extra money to Mahomes :P

If they're saving this cap space to roll over into next year, it's possible they may do that to have a really high first year, with the rest being more "team friendly".
