How bad are the Miami Dolphins?

Completely disagree. You don’t build a winner by losing. The Browns have proven that no amount of talent can will a team to victory. It takes a winning culture. You build a winning culture by winning and finding more players that are invested in helping you win.

The Cardinals are showing that you compete and then you stack wins. The Cardinals never tanked for their high pick. They just were not good.

The Dolphins will get a bunch of high level picks likely from programs that win. If they can show they’re about something then it’s easier to get those guys to buy in and create the culture you want. The 49ers are showing this as well. The Raiders are showing this too. That’s how you build a winning team. If anything winning is proving that they have the right coach, now you just need to get the right players and there’s no reason they can’t be competing for the #2 spot in this division next season.

The cardinals got their franchise QB by being the worst team in football, the 49ers had multiple seasons of picking top 5 which built that loaded defense which is winning them games. I don’t know why you are using them as an example. The browns suck because they picked the wrong coach. The dolphins have been 7-9 for basically the last 20 years and it has gotten them nothing.

Building a “winning culture” is important when you’re doing it with your young franchise QB, not a washed up veteran that won’t be on the team next year

Disagree. They’ve been 7-9 because they’re in a division with the GOAT head coach and a top 5 QB of all time. They’ve been 7-9 because they have have the coach that’s showing just how bad he is with the Jets.

The Cardinals competed and took risks. They traded away a top 10 QB and went with a QB that in past years might’ve raised eyebrows as Murray isn’t even 6’0”, they went with a unique offensive system that the NFL has yet to see. All of their moves are about competing and getting better. They weren’t looking to tank, they just flat out sucked and got the pick. They got it and then used it as part of a plan to get better.

The 49ers had multiple seasons of picking #1, true. But really all the means is they had multiple seasons with first round top lottery type picks. The Dolphins have traded enough capital to secure multiple first round talents this season and in the future.

I also mentioned the Raiders they got draft capital and put it to great use and are competing for a playoff spot... they didn’t tank for the #1 draft spot.

The point with the Browns is that you can’t take a losing culture and turn it around overnight. You need to build a winning culture. And that starts by competing and winning, even when you lack the overall talent. You put Minkah on a winning organization and he’s a top talent, you put him on a losing one and you see what he was. If they can’t get players to buy in then they will be trapped into a purgatory of losing like the Browns are. The Browns went out and got a coach that had never proven he was a winner and came from a program with winning habits. And they’re paying the price. The Jets did the same with their head coach. The Dolphins have less talent than the Jets and Browns but have a similar record because they have a coach with better habits and has gotten his talent to buy in. You don’t ruin that by purposefully getting a #1 pick.

Say you get that pick and take a Tua, that guy can’t carry a franchise. There isn’t a transcendent QB talent in this draft class, if there were MAYBE you consider tanking for an Andrew Luck. But this class does not have a slam dunk option. So you compete and build and don’t look back.

Bro I knew New York would win the Giants-Jets game. Congrats.

It surprised me with how many injuries we have and how we started XFL players at CB. But Darnold is capable of playing great, I just hope they can get him the proper supporting cast nextseason to allow him to show people how good he can be.  And FIRE GASE.
