I used to road trip to Austin/Dallas/South Padre/Galveston on a weekly basis in college, then flew everywhere when I was working full time. Now the wife and I will take a trip to San Antonio a few times a year to visit family.

It was fun when I was younger - pile up in my buddy's Honda Civic with beverages, jam out on a mix tape (aging myself on that one) and mess with the guy who'd fall asleep. Once, my buddy borrowed his uncle's hoopty van for a road trip to Austin - we ran out of fuel right before we had an exit, so we started to sway back and forth to get the momentum to get to the exit (I think that's what happened, I don't remember much from that trip outside of a few things that might not be forum appropriate...)

Did a few of those places end of May/beginning of June.

Stayed in Frisco/Dallas, had lunch in Austin, 2 nights in San Antonio, a night in South Padre and a night in Galveston.

All cool cities.

Only if the driver is comfortable with me drinking on the road. In the back seat of course, far out of his or her reach because we're not trying to kill anybody.

but yes, if that threshold is met I am down for any road trips. Have done lots in the past, never super long ones though.
