Why Did You Purchase Your Home?

Cost of House: 195k

Location: Far away from Wisconsin

Bedrooms: 5

Baths: 3

Year Bought: 2016

Average Cost of House in Area: 180-300k

Ideal/Highest Price You'd Be Willing to Pay for House in Area: 220k

What Made You Choose Your Home: Tons of space in the garage for my Camaro and I could pee off the back deck without being seen.

Moved to Florida and sold the house though a couple months ago.

Was that a major selling point for the real estate agent? Really hope you phrased it that way

The 5 bedrooms and oversized garage. The peeing off the deck is about self discovery. Something only a MAN can appreciate..

So either your username is false advertising, or your neighbors are a long ways away.

and man oh man, was that 1000 bucks hard to come up with....

I’m not gonna ask you what you did for it but what did you do for it

It's $1,000

but $1,000 back in VD's time

I'm imagining he worked about 16 months to come up with that.

In 2016 I bought a 1250 sq foot ranch style house for 175k.  It sits in the corner of 8 acres of woods. I  liked that it was well built in 1998. Good wooden windows. Dry basement. Upscale neighborhood (neighbors houses are 350k). 15 minutes to work. 10 minutes to downtown. I’ve put about 12-15k into remodeling and upgrades and Zillow estimates it around 210k, so it was a good investment.

Really happy with the purchase. I love home ownership, but it’s not for everyone. I’m handy enough to do repairs and remodeling by myself and I enjoy it. I enjoy mowing the lawn on my zero turn. Love to do house automation stuff. I have hue lights, smart thermostat, smart tv all controlled by Alexa.

Oh, and a beautiful 750 square foot garage

Im flabbergasted.

Here in Seattle, I'd have to drop 500,000 to 600,000 for a starter home.

Your housing market went nuts like 3 years ago. No idea what happened. We had to do special exceptions on appraisals there because they couldn't keep up with the inflating house prices
