For a fan base who lived through both Spygate and Deflategate there’s a lot of mob mentality flying around. At this point there’s literally no evidence he did anything at all. I'm just saying there's an awful lot of smoke here. Especially having read those texts from the lawsuit documents. The dude absolutely is capable of having done what he's accused of. And to borrow an infamous phrase, it's more probable than not that he did at least some of it. And please don't compare football shenanigans with sexual assault (not to mention stiffing people who worked for him). Apparition
And FWIW, anyone who still denies that Spygate happened is just being childish. Just as childish as those who are still hung up on them like they bore any relevance to on-the-field results. The correct attitude is, "Yeah, they cheated. And every team had the opportunity to cheat right back, so what makes you think they didn't?"

The point is, if you misbehave that badly in any profession, it doesn't matter "what you are paid to do", you should be fired. And will be. There's evidence of those texts. And whatever you think of those texts, it was clearly a situation where Bill said something like 'no incidents, get your head down here and work, leave all the noise out' etc or words to that affect. And F me, 11 days in he's in the news again with that kind of stuff. Zero tolerance, and he crossed it, for Bill. That was the first and only thing he's done as an actual Patriot, and he walked the plank for it. biggbrd
Glad he's gone. Felt uncomfortable about it when they signed him, and ongoing problems didn't make it feel any better. Sad from an on-field perspective that we won't get to see what could have been one of the best WR units ever if everything had gelled, but I think they made the right move.
mission27
If it were just a couple allegations from before his time with the Pats from people who were suing him, and no criminal charges, it would be tough to release him. The texts were highly inappropriate and a distraction to the team, if you want to be a Patriot you have to take the high road with that ****.
mission27
Tbh though what it comes down to was Brown was going to be put on the exempt list and we were going to have $9m of cap space tied up in a guy who couldn’t play because he couldn’t control himself off the field and its better to just let him go and keep the cap space
