I just realized I've never posted in this thread before. Ok, without further ado.

BIO:
My name is Michael & I'm 45 yrs old.
I've been married almost 20 years. I have 2 kids & 4 dogs.
I work on cars for a living at an auto body shop in Springfield, MO.

I've been a Redskins fan, since I was 5 yrs old. My brother is a Giants fan, but we're a close nit family. In fact, when I was 5 & him 12 he said I needed to find a football team.

He asked who I liked & I said..."I don't know"!

He said a true fan of a team, stays with them forever.

I said "ok".

He said, do you want to find your team?
I said "yes"!

He liked to color, so he colored the 28 teams at the time (1978) on a regular piece of writing paper. They were the helmets with logo.

He flipped them over like the game Old Maid.

He asked, do I want my team to be the 1st  team I selected, or the last?

Of course at 5 yrs old, this was fun so I said"last" of course.

So I kept turning over the teams 1 by 1. Eagles, Bucs, Dolphins, etc.

Till I was down to just 2 more.

The last unflipped team being my team forever.

So I flipped over this purple team, who would be the Minnesota Vikings, with just 1 left to go. The team remaining....

This Funky reddish looking team with some kind of Indian man on it.

I hear my brother go crap...

"I say, who is this team, Kevin?"

He replies....Its the Washington Redskins.

I say, "this will be my team, forever & forever"!

So here I am. Probably why I'm the homer I probably portray that I am. This was just before Gibbs would come along...

Other things I like?
Rum & Coke is my drink of choice
My brother & myself are big fans of the band KISS

I play electric guitar
Write my own songs

Lots of other stuff about me, but this is probably good for now.

Sorry, I waited so long to post in this thread.

I will add that my favorite player of all time is Sammy Baugh.

Not only because of the way he played, but because he was very similar to me.

I used to chew tobacco
I played football all my life
I wore #33 on several occasions. My favorite jersey #.
I was a QB, P and played other positions as well. I was pretty good...
I'm also 6'2" and in H.S was 185 lbs.
The exact height & weight of Sammy Baugh.

Enjoyed the BIO, @aceinthehouse. Fun story, and crazy way to get your NFL team, but who am I to judge, lol.

BTW, as an electric guitarist and older guy like myself, do you know anything about the dude in my avatar?

Hello all,

I just joined the forum. Reading at this forum for quite some time, but thought it was time to join. About me:

39 years old, from the Utrecht - Netherlands

Native Dutch speaker, so sorry about the typo's/ grammar mistakes in my posts

3 kids (1, 3 and 5 years old)

Love American Football

Used to play it during my college years (2000-2005) for a Dutch team and in the end the National team (for 1 game). I played receiver and cornerback.

After that I coached the youth and senior team.

I've been a fan since Dan Wilkerson and Dana joined the team. That was the year I visited DC for the first time. My best friend used to live in Ashburn. We met during an exchange project of students: he stayed in the Netherlands for 1 year. Until 2009 we were able to meet every year. Now it's still every other yer. He was a big fan of the Skins, I also joined the bandwagon.

Best player: Chris Samuels is my pick here.

Best player current team: Trent Williams.

Hope to have a great year with the Redskins and you all
